The tool is designed for operation by pneumatic power only. One model of reversing air
motor is fitted.

The adaptor is specially designed to connect the prewinder to the air motor and to house
the drive and clutch mechanism of the threaded mandrel.

The prewinder is specific to each thread size of insert. Its function is initially to receive
the insert prior to insertion. When the tool is used the insert, on passing through the
prewinder is reduced in diameter so that it can easily enter its threaded hole.

The mandrel assembly is specific to each thread size of insert and in some cases to the
type of insert i.e. free running and screwlock. The thread on the mandrel ensures correct
pitch feed of the insert during installation thus eliminating the possibility of cross
threading or jamming.

A spacer set is provided with the power tool. This enables the tool to be set to install
varying lengths of insert of a specific thread size. Fine adjustment on the depth of
insertion of the insert can be effected by use of the spacer shims which are included
in the spacer set.
